Some of these boxes were designed to be lighter and just as strong as wooden boxes. These boxes are made of two parts, which are the liner and medium, and are both made of containerboard - a particularly heavy type of paper. The outer surfaces, or the liner, sandwich an inner fluted layer called the medium.
